An investigation is to follow an incident on Friday afternoon, April 4, 2025, when two people were rescued from a light aircraft that left the runway at Newtownards Airfield in County Down.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, were dispatched to the scene following a 999 call at 12:58.
According to reports, both passengers on the aircraft were unharmed and did not require further medical treatment.
A spokesperson confirmed that the incident was contained by 1.47pm when the area was deemed safe by fire and rescue personnel.
