Ireland’s business events pipeline now worth €1.2bn

Fáilte Ireland says Ireland’s business events industry has shown strong recovery in 2023, almost reaching pre-pandemic levels for face-to-face events.

The pipeline for future business events in Ireland up to 2032 is estimated to be valued at over €1.2bn. Fáilte Ireland has secured 335 international business events worth €144m million for future years in Ireland.

Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland are bringing 36 suppliers the IMEX America event in Las Vegas, the largest trade show in the US for the global meetings, events, and incentive travel industry.

David Boyce, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Asia, Middle East and Global Inbound, said: “Tradeshows like IMEX America are a vital platform to ensure Ireland is ‘top of mind’ for them when programming and recommending destinations to their clients in the years ahead.”

Fáilte Ireland’s Head of Commercial Development, Paul Mockler said: “Business events not only have a positive economic impact on a destination, they can also contribute to positive social and environmental impact.

Four Irish business events regions were ranked in the top 40 most sustainable destinations according to the Global Destinations Sustainability Index.
