Irish rail improves services on 7 inter-city routes

Irish rail is to introduce extra cross-country train services from December 10, will increase services on various intercity and commuter routes, with new services and stops on routes such as Dublin-Portlaoise, Carlow-Drogheda, Cork-Mallow, Westport-Athlone, Galway-Dublin, Tralee-Cork, and Portlaoise-Dublin.

A new early morning departure from Dublin Heuston to Cork will allow passengers to reach their 9am appointments.

The new service will include stops at Limerick Junction and a connecting train to Limerick city.
