
Irish visits to the United States dropped by 3,1pc in February having grown by 3.5pc in January after strong growth over the previous ten months. It was up 8.6pc for the year 2024 and back to 95pc of pre-pandemic levels.
Ireland was the 18th most important inbound market to the USA for the year 2024.
reemanInternational visitor arrivals to the United States reached 72,390,321 in 2024 with a 9.1pc increase from 2023, reaching 91.1pc of pre-pandemic levels. It means the USA retains its position as the third most visited country in the world, after France (100m) and Spain (93.8m).
Western Europe led with 13,067,365 visitors, while Asia noted the highest percentage growth at 21.6pc, contrasting with Oceania’s 6.3pc increase.
December 2024 saw 6,456,562 total international visitors, marking a 9.5pc rise from December 2023 and 94pc of the pre-COVID total from December 2019.
Mexico, Canada, and the England were the top three sources of international arrivals in December, comprising 60.9pc of total arrivals, with a noted increase in visitor volume from India.
Outbound U.S. citizen departures in December 2024 totalled 10,007,357, reflecting a 7.7pc year-over-year increase and 112.8pc of pre-pandemic levels, with a dominant market share held by Mexico and the Caribbean.
