ITA Airways is integrating with Lufthansa Group by switching terminals at Frankfurt and Munich airports effective from 31 March 2025.
The airline has relocated from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 at Frankfurt and from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 at Munich, allowing all Lufthansa Group carriers to operate from the same terminals in these hubs.
The integration follows Lufthansa Group’s acquisition of a 4pc stake in ITA Airways, enabling reciprocal benefits for frequent flyer programme members of both airlines.
ITA Airways plans to exit SkyTeam and aims to join Star Alliance in early 2026, expanding its global connections.
The launch of codeshares will encompass around 100 routes initially, with ambitions to grow this to 250, offering enhanced travel options for passengers.
