The 46th Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, running from October 24 to 28, has been calculated to contribute at €7,000 per minute for the Cork economy and generates over €50m in hospitality spending during its five-day duration.
Featuring over 100,000 attendees, the festival showcases performances from more than 500 artists across 99 venues in Cork and nearby locations, with US star Gregory Porter headlining the program.
This year’s highlights include a curated show celebrating the music of Gil Scott-Heron, the return of the popular jazz parade, and the “Big Fringe” which offers free performances in 72 pubs and clubs throughout Cork.
Founded in 1978, the festival is a key driver of tourism outside the peak summer season in Cork, and has hosted a host of legendary jazz artists, solidifying its status as one of the premier jazz events globally.
