Kilmore Quay in Co Wexford may have to repay a grant after divsions within the community regarding a proposed walking trail plan.
The local dispute centres on projects funded by €500,000 from the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.
The disputed plans include a cycle path along the canal, a looped walking trail, a footbridge, and a car park.
If an agreement cannot be reached, the funding may be returned to the central government.
