Ireland West Airport Knock had its busiest first quarter in 2024, with a record 159,000 passengers, up 18pc on 2023 and 6pc from the previous busiest quarter in 2019.

The airport operates flights to 21 international destinations and is served by major airlines like Aer Lingus, Lauda Europe, and Ryanair, with a significant increase in passengers traveling to and from England.

Strong first-quarter numbers were driven by record passenger numbers to destinations like Malaga, Lanzarote, and Tenerife, with Ryanair operating its biggest summer schedule to European hotspots. New screening systems have enhanced the passenger experience, enabling passengers to leave liquids and laptops in the bag.
