A group of 45 Irish tourism businesses participated in a workshop at The Radisson Blu Hotel in Limerick, where they publicised their offerings to a group of 16 Coach & Group Tour Operators from England.
The event is organised by Fáilte Ireland in collaboration with Tourism Ireland, focusing on fostering partnerships to promote Ireland as a travel destination for the 2025 season.
Coach and group tour visitors are vital for spreading tourism across Ireland, especially during the off-season, as they typically spend longer periods and explore more of the country compared to short city breaks.
The workshop aims to strengthen existing relationships and develop new connections between Irish tourism providers and overseas operators, paving the way for increased business opportunities in 2025 and beyond.
Paul Mockler, Head of Commercial Development, Fáilte Ireland, said: “these overseas agents have the capacity to deliver a significant number of visitors to Ireland and their presence here is a testimony to Ireland’s appeal as a destination. Sales events such as this are very effective for Irish business, allowing them to make direct contact with multiple travel agents and overseas buyers in one day.”
