Limerick City and County Council is seeking public feedback on the Castletroy Urban Greenway to National Technology Park (NTP) Active Travel Scheme to enhance sustainable transport and active travel connectivity in the area.
The scheme includes extending the Castletroy Greenway, adding controlled crossings for pedestrians and cyclists, and upgrading pathways along Holland Road, with a goal of reducing traffic congestion and improving access to schools and local businesses.
A public consultation period will run from September 27 to October 25, 2024, featuring an in-person event on October 10 at Munster GAA Headquarters, where residents can review the plans and share their opinions.
Mayor John Moran and Brian Kennedy from Limerick City and County Council emphasize the importance of community participation in shaping the proposals, with feedback options available through the MyPoint online platform or in writing to the council.
Limerick’s directly elected mayor John Moran shared: “I’d encourage all citizens, particularly those living, working, studying and regularly travelling in and around the Castletroy area, to participate in shaping these proposals.”
