Limerick Strand Hotel has partnered with Irish charity Hometree, becoming the first hotel in Limerick city to collaborate with the organization to support environmental sustainability and Irish biodiversity.
Hometree, established in 2014, focuses on planting native trees like Scots pine, willow, and alder to enhance Ireland’s habitats and biodiversity through land regeneration and conservation efforts.
The hotel introduced Green Meetings and Green Weddings initiatives, providing ideas for hosting eco-friendly events such as paperless meetings using projectors, on-site wedding ceremonies to reduce carbon emissions, and utilizing sustainable decorations to minimize waste.
Guests can contribute to Hometree’s tree planting mission by donating through QR codes displayed in the hotel or website, reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. The Limerick Strand Hotel’s efforts have earned them a Gold Green Tourism Accreditation, showcasing their dedication to environmentally responsible practices in the hospitality industry.
