The liquidators of GTLK Europe DAC and GTLK Europe Capital DAC are seeking legal action against GTLK’s parent company, the Joint Stock Company State Transport Leasing Company, over an attempt to register itself as the legal owner of 37 aircraft that belong to the liquidated firms.
Damien Murrin and Julian Mooney, from Teneo Restructuring Ireland, were appointed as joint liquidators to GTLK Europe DAC and GTLK Europe Capital DAC earlier this year.
These firms, part of the GTLK group, were liquidated after four creditors alleged they were owed over €162.5m.
The parent company claims to be entitled to ownership under pledge agreements governed by Russian law, which were allegedly made between it, GTLK Europe, and other GTLK Europe group companies registered in Ireland.
The next hearing on this matter is scheduled to take place in the High Court next week. GTLK is Russia’s largest transport leasing business, with its international leasing business based in Dublin.
