A brand-new pilot Wednesday lunchtime food market is coming to the heart of Dublin’s North Inner City this September, with the Lunch at Liberty Park Food Market launching on Wednesday, 9 September 2026. Located at Liberty Park, just behind Talbot Street in Dublin 1, the park sits in the heart of the historic Monto district, an area rich in Dublin’s social and cultural history. Supported by the North East Inner City Initiative and Dublin City Council, the market will take place every Wednesday in September from 12:30 to 3:00 PM.
Eight food vendors bring together an exciting mix of food and flavours from Dublin and around the world including Asian food, African food, pizzas, Portuguese goodies, coffee and handmade cakes and treats. Alongside the food, a DJ creates music with outdoor seating, creating a new Wednesday lunchtime destination for local residents, office workers, students and visitors to Dublin 1. The pilot market aims to activate Liberty Park as a community gathering space and introduce more people to the green space in the heart of the North East Inner City.
The pilot Lunch at Liberty Park Food Market project envisages that Liberty Park can become the perfect venue to host weekly lunchtime community food markets. The initiative responds to the fact that many people who work or study just minutes away may not be aware of the park’s existence. The market runs throughout September, with organisers encouraging people to come down, grab some lunch, meet friends or colleagues and discover Liberty Park for themselves.
