AerCap announce their UL scholarship for 2024

AerCap and the University of Limerick have announced that Roisin Philbey, a student in Aeronautical Engineering, is the recipient of this year’s AerCap Women in Aviation Scholarship.

Roisin, originally from Dublin, was selected based on her passion for aviation and academic achievements.

The scholarship provides a bursary of €5,000 a year for four years and an eight-month internship at AerCap, offering first-hand experience in the aviation leasing industry.

Denise Mangan-Fahy, Head of Engine Portfolio & Rental Operations at AerCap, expressed their support for this initiative and mentioned their goal of encouraging more women to pursue careers in aviation:  “Our aim is to build a strong pipeline of diverse talent through programmes such as this and to encourage more women to choose an aviation career, particularly in the area of engineering. We look forward to welcoming Roisin to AerCap.”

Sarah Hartnett, Director of Development at the University of Limerick Foundation, also expressed gratitude to AerCap for their continued support in promoting women in aviation.
