  • Revenue rose 7.3pc year-on-year
  • Net profit fell 47.4pc to €93.5m due to a €79.8m Cuba charge

Meliá Hotels International has recorded consolidated revenues excluding capital gains of €1,707m in the first nine months of 2026, a rise of 7.3pc. Third-quarter revenues reached €659.6m, up 7.7pc, driven by strong summer demand especially in Spain. Net profit for the nine months fell 47.4pc to €93.5m mainly because of an extraordinary €79.8m charge from ending operations in Cuba.

RevPAR rose 16.5pc over the nine months and 25.9pc in the third quarter. Profit from continuing operations reached €173.3m. Third-quarter net profit of €89.4m outpaced the €80.3m consensus analyst estimate. Meliá formally ended all management operations across its 34 Cuban hotels on 24 July 2026, concluding a 36-year presence on the island.

The group expects high single-digit RevPAR growth for the full year and noted limited short-term cancellations in southern Spain linked to the recent high-speed rail disruption. Meliá reported double-digit higher fourth-quarter bookings on the books and remains on track to sign up to 40 new hotels and open 24 properties in 2026.
