Ryanair CEO O’Leary has told Boeing to “get its s— together” after the Seattle based manufacturer revealed fresh delays to deliveries of its flagship 737 Max.
Mr O’Leary responded to the announcement an announcement by Boeing by saying Ryanair could scrap orders if Boeing is unable to deliver another batch of planes in time for next summer. He said: “Boeing needs to get its act together and start delivering these aircraft on time. “I had a lot of sympathy for Boeing but patience is running out.”
“I would have been reasonably confident up until about a month ago that we would get 57 aircraft by the end of June. I’m now not confident.”
Earlier in September Boeing told Ryanair it would be able to deliver only 14 of the 27 that are due by December. Boeing now says disruptions poised to linger beyond mid-2024 as predicted earlier.
Ryanair scrapped an order for 200 Boeing aircraft in 2009 due to supply delays. All of Ryanair’s fleet of 565 aircraft are Boeing 737, except for 28 A320s operated by Lauda.
