Minister Kyne call for Inis Mór winter ferry service to resume

Seán Kyne, Minister of State for the Gaeltacht said he wants to see a boat running by this evening to Inis Mór after Island Ferries Teoranta, ended the service for the winter on Wednesday,

The operator withdrew services following a dispute over levies with the local authority.

Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, Seán Kyne said he hopes that Galway County Council and the Inis Mór ferry operators can come to a resolution at a meeting this morning to restore the service: “I want to see a boat. I want to see this boat running this evening and that’s what these talks are about today.
