British Airways, headed up by Sean Doyle, aims to restart flights to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, as it focuses on expanding routes to Asia to rebalance its reliance on North America.

British Airways is to invest €878m (£750m) over the next three years in IT improvements, including updating its website and mobile app, part of €8.2bn (£7bn) transformation plan taking place over the next two years.

These investments are part of a larger effort to modernise the airline’s operations and rebuild its reputation after facing competition from budget carriers.

The airline will also introduce new seats for short-haul flights, upgrade its lounges, and plans to release a new First suite by 2025 or early 2026.
