New York JFK Airport is revamping Terminal 5, introducing a redesigned centre concourse and 40 new concessions.

Terminal 5, which opened in 2008, is the base for JetBlue, set to launch its first airport lounge by late 2025.

Upcoming concessions include Eataly, The Halal Guys, Shake Shack, Jacob’s Pickles, Tiki Chick, Serafina, Benetari’s, Gotham Burger, Birch Coffee, Nom Wah, Devoción, Mister Paradise, the Blind Barber, Leon’s Bagels, DiFara Pizza and Neir’s Tavern..

The terminal renovation draws inspiration from New York’s parks, showcasing greenery, benches, and interactive experiences.

Progress continues on the new $4.2bn Terminal 6, along with Aer Lingus, Air Canada and Norse Atlantic scheduled to relocate there when the first six gates open in 2026.

Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, said: “When it opened, Terminal 5 set a new standard for customer-focused airport design that reflected our mission of bringing humanity back to air travel.

“Now, in support of the Port Authority’s plan to redevelop JFK, we look forward to further enhancing the experience for all who travel through this world-class terminal.

“This isn’t just about new dining and shopping—it’s about bringing the energy of New York into the terminal. From local flavors to spaces that capture the city we love, we’re making T5 more uniquely New York while staying unmistakably JetBlue.”

Aer Lingus shared that will open a new signature lounge in Terminal 6 for its passengers, “providing a modern state of the art space with greater seating capacity, ensuring more comfort and space for Aer Lingus customers. All customers can look forward to the Terminal’s boutique, state-of-the-art design, with short walking distances to and from gates, curated artwork, and 100,000 square feet of NYC-inspired shopping and dining. A new Aer Lingus check-in space will allow for a seamless check-in experience with self-service bag drop options for greater convenience. Aer Lingus customers can enjoy seamless connectivity within the same terminal with connecting partner JetBlue.”
