Carnival Corporation is to maintain its one to two ship newbuild schedule into the 2030s.

The company placed orders for three new Princess Cruises ships scheduled for delivery in 2035, 2038 and 2039. This brings the total orderbook to 10 ships, including five for Carnival Cruise Line and two for AIDA. President and CEO Josh Weinstein confirmed the measured approach during the second quarter 2026 earnings call on 23 June 2026.

Carnival continues modernisation programmes across the existing fleet. The AIDA Evolution programme saw AIDAbella become the third of seven ships upgraded. Holland America Line begins its Evolution upgrades with Oosterdam in autumn 2027, which adds cabins and supports moderate capacity growth.

The company plans further enhancement programmes for additional brands in the coming months. Weinstein stated that Carnival will not deviate from its disciplined annual pace while ordering vessels for delivery in the 2030s.

Josh Weinstein shared “Carnival plans to hold to its one to two ships per year newbuild cadence into the next decade, even as it expects to keep ordering vessels for delivery in the 2030s. While more vessels will likely be ordered for delivery in the 2030s, the company has no plans to deviate from its measured one to two ship annual pace.”
