North Korea’s Wonsan-Kalma Coastal Tourist Zone has opened to the public. Kim Jong Un personally inaugurated the Kalma beach resort, described as a “national treasure-level tourism city” by state media.

The project aims to attract foreign currency, with the Kalma beach resort conveniently located next to an international airport.

Only domestic guests will be allowed initially, specifically targeting the privileged elite of Pyongyang, according to experts.

Wonsan-Kalma is open to just North Koreans for now, but Russians are expected at the resort in the not-too-distant future.
