Osaka, one of Japan’s largest cities, is preparing to host the World Exposition 2025 from April 13 to October 13, featuring the theme “Designing the Future of Our Lives” and attracting 28.2m visitors.

Over 3m of the expected visitors will come from abroad, with nearly 5m tickets sold in advance, generating excitement among residents reminiscent of the last expo in 1970.

The venue, located on an island off Osaka’s coast, employs technology similar to that of Kansai International Airport and aims to showcase innovative concepts including flying cars, fostering international cooperation.

Visitors can engage with Osaka’s expo history at ExpoCity, home to the immersive Expo ’70 Pavilion, Taro Okamoto’s “Tower of the Sun,” and a collection of memorabilia, while ExpoCity is accessible via a short monorail ride from Itami Airport.
