
Entrepreneur Paddy Doherty plans to invest €13m in hospitality projects, including a hotel in his native Inishowen, Co Donegal, and the acquisition of Queens gastro pub in Dalkey, Co Dublin.
Doherty’s latest acquisition is McGrory’s Hotel in in Culdaff, not far from Doherty’s home town of Carndonagh, purchased for around €1m, which features 17 bedrooms and additional housing for 60 tourists per night.
Doherty Hospitality Group has agreed to buy Queens in Dalkey for approximately €3.4m, which has planning permission for a 30-bedroom guesthouse.
McGrory’s Hotel has celebrated its centenary in 2024 and features a bar, restaurant, and a popular live-music venue known as the Backroom. Niamh Walsh of TDL shared “Once you walk in there you know you are in Donegal.”
