SAS AB, the parent company of SAS Scandinavian Airlines, has applied for “company reorganisation” in Sweden
The reorganisation application is separate from the airline and subsidiaries, which will continue operating normally
The move follows the confirmation of SAS’s Chapter 11 restructuring plan by the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York
The Swedish reorganisation is essential for the Chapter 11 plan to be implemented, with the aim of completing the restructuring process by mid-2024 and involving a new owner-consortium and renegotiated leases for aircraft.
