
Passenger numbers through Irish airports rose by 7pc to 12m in the second quarter of 2025 compared with 11.2m in the same period of 2024, according to the latest report from the Central Statistics Office.
In the first half of 2025, 20.3m passengers used the five main airports, up almost 800,000 from the first six months of 2024. Over 81,000 flights occurred in Q2 2025, with Dublin handling 83pc, Cork 8pc, and Shannon 6pc.
Top Dublin routes included London Heathrow with 459,562 passengers, Amsterdam Schiphol with 342,773, and Manchester with 273,140. About 85pc of international passengers travelled to or from Europe, mainly the UK and Spain, while the US led non-European destinations.
