A petition has been launched on Change.org to reopen Galway Airport.
The airport site spans 115 acres and is owned by Galway city and county councils. Galway Flying club recently secured a lease extension to December 2026. The airport has hosted test facility and concerts since closure. The joint owner councils have been seeking proposals for site development.
