Press Photographers Ireland Exhibition opens at Shannon airport for next two weeks

Shannon Airport has opened the Press Photographers Ireland CLG Exhibition, showcasing over 100 award-winning images that depict Ireland’s story from 2024. It wil run until end August.

The exhibition is part of the lead-up to World Photography Day 2025 and will be on display for two weeks until 26th August. Niall Kearns, Airport Director, welcomed the exhibition, praising the power of the images to bring 2024 to life for airport visitors and travellers.

David Branigan, President of Press Photographers Ireland, noted the importance of using human skills in photography during a time of disinformation and AI manipulation. The exhibition is free to visit and is located on the 1st floor of the Departures area, alongside other airport amenities, including the Aviation Gallery and JJ Ruddles café.

Niall Kearns shared, “We are honoured to host this stunning showcase of Irish photojournalism.”

David Branigan shared, “The viewers of these award-winning images on display now at Shannon Airport… can be assured that only human technical and creative skills have been deployed in telling their stories.”
