Qantas will extend its seasonal Perth-Rome service by eight weeks, operating from 3 May to 23 October 2026.

The airline will increase flights from three to four per week during peak season, providing over 40 additional services and nearly 10,000 extra seats. The nonstop service, launched in 2022, has carried over 70,000 passengers, representing Australia’s quickest route to Rome.

Qantas utilises its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for this service, offering 1-2-1 lie-flat business class seating. The flight timings are designed to facilitate seamless connections for passengers from eastern Australia.

Cam Wallace shared, “Rome is one of Europe’s most iconic destinations and our nonstop flight is incredibly popular with customers who tell us they love being able to depart Perth in the evening and wake up in Rome. As over half the customers on our Rome flights originate from the east of Australia, our Italian flights are timed to connect seamlessly in Perth with our domestic services from the east coast.”
