
Riyadh hosted 600 young people from 100 countries during the UFCCC MENA Climate Week as the Saudi government ramps up its efforts to identify with sustainability.
The Sustainable Tourism Global Centre (STGC) Youth Champions Initiative aims to create a community of 100,000 young people from over 150 countries by 2030., and, according to its documentation “focuses on engaging with and listening to young people worldwide to solve climate change issues and promote sustainable travel and tourism.”
During the UNFCCC MENA Climate Week, the young leaders participated in sessions on sustainability and discussed challenges, opportunities, and the youth’s role in achieving a net-zero future in the travel and tourism industry.
The STGC provides young leaders with access to best practices, case studies, advocacy support, and training programmes related to sustainable tourism.
Youth involvement is a crucial part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 transformation strategy.
