- Royal Caribbean drinks package only available at $55
- Gratuities no longer included

Royal Caribbean has consolidated its drinks package at $55 a day with effect September 6, eliminating cheaper versions and says all gratuities are no longer included in the price. It said gratuities may be offered as part of a promotion on select sailings.
Irish customers will be unaffected by the change. Royal had a similar package before at $55 plus gratuities called the Ultimate Drinks Package which has been renamed the Deluxe Drinks Package and now also includes freshly squeezed juices and speciality coffee.
Drinks package options are being reduced from seven to four with the new $55 a day Deluxe Beverage package covers cocktails, spirits, wines and beers priced at up to $12. For drinks over $12, a $12 credit will be applied to the price of the drink and bottled wines prices up to $100 are on offer with a 40pc discount, and wines priced over $100 at 20pc discount. Previously, the least expensive beverage package to include alcohol cost $39 per day.
A statement from Royal Caribbean said the change was based on “guest feedback” and is meant to make choosing a package simpler. The soft drink packages are:
- Classic Soda Package remains unchanged, with unlimited soft drinks.
- Evian bottled water is simplified to 12 ($39) or 24 bottles ($69).
- Refreshment package ($26/day) includes coffees, teas, bottled water, fresh squeezed orange juice, non-alcoholic cocktails, and all soft drinks.
Passengers who have purchased one of the older drink packages will either have their purchased honoured (the Select package) or upgraded to the new Deluxe Beverage package for no additional cost (the Premium and Ultimate packages). All purchased Replenish packages will be converted to Refreshment packages.
