Ryanair steps up PR battle with eDreams over Hamburg court ruling

Ryanair has filed a protective brief with the Hamburg Court to prevent eDreams from restricting the airline publicising rulings that found eDreams’ pricing and discount advertisements misleading.

The Hamburg Regional Court fined eDreams for non-compliance with prior decisions on misleading practices.

Ryanair highlighted alignment with sanctions from Italian and Spanish authorities including a €9m fine in Italy for deceptive Prime subscription practices.

The airline defended its right to inform consumers about court findings on eDreams’ conduct.

Ryanair urged mandatory price transparency for all online travel agents to protect consumers.

Dara Brady shared “eDreams’ attempt to censor Ryanair’s publication of Court findings that eDreams’ pricing practices are ‘misleading’ is a blatant attempt to hide the truth from consumers. The Hamburg Court has already ruled against eDreams and fined them over their conduct. Our PR simply explained those rulings. Instead of fixing its business model, eDreams is now trying to censor Ryanair’s communications and shut down criticism. We won’t let that happen.”
