Ryanair’s Chief Executive Michael O’Leary says he will defer deliveries of Boeing aircraft if new US tariffs are imposed.
The airline is scheduled to receive 25 new aircraft between August and October 2025 but may postpone if import costs rise.
O’Leary mentioned that these aircraft won’t be necessary until March or April, ahead of the 2026 summer season.
Ryanair has unfulfilled orders for thirty-one B737-8-200s and 150 B737-10s, having faced logistical challenges in deliveries.
Other airlines, such as Delta Air Lines and Juneyao Air, are also responding to tariff-related cost increases by deferring aircraft deliveries.
Michael O’Leary shared: “If tariffs are imposed on those aircraft, there’s every likelihood we may delay the delivery. We might delay them and hope that common sense will prevail.”
