Ryanair is to terminatie all routes to and from the Azores at the end of the Winter 2025/26 season.
The carrier blamed high airport fees and taxes for the decision. Ryanair operated 5x weekly to Ponta Delgada from Lisbon and Porto. The LCC held a 4.6pc market share at the airport by scheduled capacity. The routes connected the Azores’ main airport with mainland Portugal.
