Marriott International’s St Regis brand is to open its first Spanish property in Marbella. Promoters Platinum Estates and Sierra Blanca Estates have agreed a project in the Las Dunas area of eastern Marbella for a 169-room hotel plus 151 branded luxury residences on a beachfront plot of more than 160,000 square metres. The overall investment is put at around €500m.
Construction is expected to begin later in 2026 with opening targeted for early 2031. Local officials noted the scheme should create more than 2,000 direct jobs and 4,500 indirect ones during building plus around 450 permanent posts once operating. The master design and interiors are being led by Rockwell Group with local execution by AGAS studio.
The resort will feature a signature St Regis beach club, multiple fine-dining restaurants, wellness spaces, custom spas and sports facilities. The development highlights Marbella’s continuing growth as a destination for ultra-luxury branded residences alongside other major openings in the pipeline including Four Seasons and Waldorf Astoria.
