Dublin airport CEO Kenny Jacobs has named nine cities with which direct services could be established if the passenger cap on Dublin Airport is lifted.
DAA is working towards launching direct flights between Ireland and Brazil, following discussions with Brazilian ambassador Flávio Helmold Macieira, which were supported by over 30,000 signatures from Brazilians in Ireland.
The proposed service aims to connect Dublin to Sao Paulo, contingent on securing a bilateral agreement with the government.
DAA International is pursuing airport management opportunities in Saudi Arabia. It was named on a list of 90 companies that have expressed an interest in having an involvement in a public private partnership to build a new airport near the city of Taif.
Kenny Jacobs shared: We need to lift the Dublin Airport passenger cap in 2025. DAA has airlines eager to introduce new direct connections from Dublin to exciting destinations that currently lack service. Imagine the impact the list below could have on Irish jobs, tourism, and our reputation as an open, connected, and diverse economy-while also making travel to these destinations more affordable and accessible for Irish consumers. DAA is committed to establishing a direct airlink with Brazil, pending successful government efforts for a bilateral agreement. Ultimately, the decision to operate the route will be a commercial one for our airline partners.”
