SAS is set to leave the Star Alliance at the end of August as part of its restructuring following a stake acquisition by Air France-KLM.

The Scandinavian carrier will transition to the SkyTeam alliance starting on 1 September, 2024, with SAS EuroBonus members receiving similar loyalty benefits to those offered by Star Alliance.

SAS has been in advanced negotiations with SkyTeam and its member carriers to develop extensive commercial relationships for a smooth transition, ensuring that EuroBonus members will enjoy benefits such as extra baggage allowance, priority check-in, and lounge access.

EuroBonus members will have until 8 September to claim missing points for flights on Star Alliance airlines completed until 31 August, and more details on the transition will be shared in the upcoming weeks and months to guide customers effectively through the alliance change.
