Sceilg Mhichíl will reopen to public visitors today May 11, 2024, with visitor numbers restricted to 180 a day to protect the island.
The island is only accessible by boat and dependent on favourable weather and sea conditions.
There are 15 permits to ferry visitors to the island, with an e-tender for permits deferred this year.
Interest in Sceilg Mhichíl increased dramatically since the filming of Star Wars on the remote location and the reopening is expected to be a busy season.
