School bands have been serenading Shannon Airport as the School Bands Spectacular returns on 26th March with over 200 primary school pupils from Clare and Limerick performing in the terminal.
Passengers departing on flights to New York, Boston and Krakow plus those arriving from Heathrow and Paris enjoyed performances by students from Ennis N.S., St Finnachta’s N.S., Sixmilebridge, Knockanean N.S., Monaleen N.S. and Milford N.S. filling the Check In area with traditional tunes and contemporary pieces for passengers, visitors and staff. The event is lighting up the airport after a break since 2020 and its revival last year.
Niall Kearns welconed the students and is noting the event brings the community closer together. Angela Reidy is highlighting the excitement among the children who are rehearsing for the occasion.
The School Bands Spectacular transformed the airport into a mini-concert arena for the day and is creating lasting memories for the young musicians.
Niall Kearns shared “The School Bands Spectacular is a highlight of the year for us.”
Angela Reidy shared “There has been such excitement among the children as they rehearsed and practiced for today.”
