Scotland’s Loganair is pausing the launch of new routes and flights until it achieves a higher on-time performance (OTP), aiming to improve its OTP from 79pc in 2023 to up to 85pc in 2024.
Logainair says the decision was made to prioritise improving the airline’s resilience by focusing on achieving superior on-time performance before expanding its services, as stated by the company’s chief commercial officer, Luke Lovegrove.
Loganair currently operates a fleet of 33 in-house aircraft, including various ATR and DHC models, as well as wet-leasing an ATR72-200(F) from West Atlantic, based in Malmö, Sweden. It operates services from four Irish airports, Dublin to Aberdeen, Belfast City to Aberdeen and Inverness, Derry to Glasgow and Heathrow and Donegal to Glasgow.
Despite delays in delivery dates, Loganair expects to add three ATR72-600s to its fleet, with the first aircraft set to arrive and enter service later this month. The company’s sale was temporarily halted last year, and they were not immediately available for comment on the current situation.
