Shannon not amongst American Airlines new trans-Atlantic routes for summer 2026

American Airlines is expanding with five new Transatlantic routes that operate 7 times a week each.

Flights from Dallas/Fort Worth to Athens and Zurich will begin on 21 May 2026, enhancing connectivity. Miami will have year-round flights to Europe, ensuring consistent travel options. Milan Malpensa service starts on 29 March, adding to the range of destinations. Philadelphia’s seasonal flights to Budapest and Prague will also commence on 21 May. The Shannon-Philadelphia seasonal service that was touted in some quarters was not among the new routes.

American Airlines shared, “We are expanding our connections with five new Transatlantic routes.”
