Six travel journalists from Austria explored Ireland’s Ancient East, representing publications with an estimated audience of 3.4m people.
They followed a packed itinerary, featuring activities such as a boat trip on the River Nore and a guided tour of Kilkenny Castle.
In Waterford, they visited Lismore Castle Gardens, Mount Congreve Gardens, and experienced a guided walking tour of the Viking Triangle.
The group also discovered Hook Lighthouse and the Irish National Heritage Park in Wexford, showcasing Ireland’s rich history and natural beauty.
Aubrey Irwin, Manager for Austria and Switzerland at Tourism Ireland, shared: “We were delighted to invite this group of Austrian travel journalists to explore Ireland’s Ancient East. There really is no substitute for being able to come and experience what Ireland has to offer at first-hand. Through the articles and content they create and share, the journalists will inspire their audiences to come and experience Ireland, our beautiful scenery and ancient castles for themselves.”
