SmartLynx Australia have commenced Sydney to Lord Howe Island operations on 1 December 2025 replacing Qantas as the exclusive route operator earlier than the planned February 2026 takeover

Flights utilised DHC-8-Q200 acquired from Qantas under October 2024 licence. Qantas concluded 30-year tenure but retained full codeshare with SmartLynx. The launch positions the ACMI carrier as first new regional airline in Sydney for years.
