Flexible accommodation operator SmartRental is expanding beyond major tourist destinations. The company is in talks for new properties in Zaragoza, Murcia and Cádiz. SmartRental currently manages 38 assets across hotels, apartments, flexible living spaces and student residences. The company aims to exceed €70m in revenue this year.
The company has entered advanced negotiations to sign new assets in Zaragoza, Murcia, and Cádiz. Having established a footprint of over 3,000 beds across major hotspots like Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Seville, and the Canary Islands, the group is branching into secondary urban markets. The company has already formalised a project in Zaragoza in collaboration with a local developer. A new SmartRental Collection luxury property featuring 90 serviced apartments is slated to open in central Zaragoza.
According to CEO Javier Chivite, after a period of rapid portfolio growth, the group is focusing on absorbing its operational learnings to optimise efficiency and scalability across its diverse product lines. These span hotels, holiday apartments, co-living, and student housing. The expansion into secondary markets aims to capture growing demand for flexible living and short-to-medium stays.
