Turkey’s Southwind Airlines has resumed flights to Western Europe with a charter service from Antalya to Berlin Brandenburg tied to the ITB Berlin travel trade fair.
The airline operated the flight with a dry-leased 189-seater Boeing 737-8 registered TC-GRK according to ADS-B data.
Southwind Airlines intended to expand its network with more European destinations after the resumption.
The carrier faced a European Union airspace ban from 29 March 2024 due to suspected Russian ties and a failed court challenge in August 2024. Southwind Airlines served at least eight Russian destinations, two in Saudi Arabia, and four domestic routes in Türkiye with a fleet of fourteen aircraft.
