Speakers announced for 2024 Wings of Change Europe conference

The 2024 Wings of Change Europe (WOCE) conference, focusing on enhancing competitive and sustainable aviation in Europe, will be hosted by ITA Airways in Rome, Italy, on 20-21 November 2024. 

IATA’s Director General Willie Walsh set out the conference’s aim to strengthen European aviation’s competitiveness in light of increasing awareness among policymakers regarding over-regulation’s detrimental effects. 

The event will feature discussions among key policymakers and industry leaders, including representatives from the European Commission and major airlines, addressing topics such as taxation, operations, sustainability, and digitalization. 

Guest speakers on government and regulatory expertise include  Filip Cornelis, Director for Aviation, European Commission, Hugo Espirito Santo, Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Portugal, Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary for Digital and Transport, Germany, and Diantha Raadgers, Senior Policy Advisor, Aviation, for the Ministry of Infrastructure, The Netherlands

Participating industry leaders include Luis Gallego, CEO, IAG, Carsten Spohr, CEO Lufthansa, Andrea Benassi, Managing Director, ITA, Arndt Schoenemann, Chairman and CEO, DFS and Ourania Georgoutsakou, Managing Director, Airlines for Europe.

They will present on geopolitical, taxation, and AI trends, contributing to a broader understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the aviation sector, with the event taking place at the Rome Marriott Park hotel.
