
SpiceJet has resumed operations of the B737 MAX, reactivating the first of seven aircraft as confirmed in a January 28, 2025, filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Flights on the B737 MAX are set to resume on January 29, allowing SpiceJet to serve high-demand routes such as Jeddah International and Riyadh without restrictions.
Currently, 35 of SpiceJet’s 54 aircraft are out of service, but the airline has reintroduced ten aircraft since October 2024 and launched 60 new routes in the last three months.
The return of the B737-8s is expected to lower fuel consumption, reduce maintenance needs, and enhance aircraft utilization, benefiting the airline’s operational efficiency.
