Star Alliance is opening a new Star Connection Centre at Los Angeles International Airport to support seamless multi-airline connections. The centre is the ninth worldwide and is addressing the needs of more than 350,000 passengers who connect between Star Alliance member airlines at LAX each year. Dedicated agents are monitoring transfer windows with specialised software and are meeting passengers at arrival gates to guide them to onward flights.
The facility is proactively identifying customers at risk of missing connections because of delayed incoming flights and is expediting them to their next flight. Sixteen Star Alliance member airlines including Air Canada, Lufthansa, United and Singapore Airlines are serving Los Angeles and are operating more than 2,000 weekly flights to over 80 destinations across more than 20 countries. Star Alliance has been operating Connection Centres for more than a decade at key hubs including Brussels, Chicago, Frankfurt and Toronto.
Ambar Franco is confirming the centre is making multi-airline journeys feel seamless through coordinated support from member airlines. Baggage-focused centres are operating in Houston, Newark, Washington Dulles and San Francisco.
Ambar Franco, Vice President Customer Experience at Star Alliance shared “Every moment matters when connections are tight, and our goal is to make multi-airline journeys feel seamless. At Star Connection Centres, our member airlines come together as one to ensure that, regardless of which airline passengers are flying with, they are supported from an Alliance perspective.”
