Stena Line is rebranding its Hygge Lounges to Hwyl Lounges on the Dublin to Holyhead route in celebration of the Welsh Year of Croeso in 2025.

The Hwyl Lounge will feature reclined chairs and soft lighting, creating a relaxing environment for passengers.

The rebranding aims to embrace the historical connections between Scandinavia and Wales, particularly the links to Anglesey.

Passengers can enjoy complimentary tea or coffee while relaxing in the newly named lounge, which costs €22 per person per trip.

The word derives from the Old Welsh huil, akin to middle Irish séol and siúl, and is sometimes translated as to sail or to progress, to have fun or enjoyment.
