Unite union has declared that strike action at Aberdeen and Glasgow airports is inevitable after workers voted overwhelmingly in favour of striking in a pay dispute.

Around 200 ICTS Limited workers at Glasgow and approximately 100 workers at Aberdeen airport participated in the vote, with 98.5pc and 89.7pc respectively supporting strike action.

The outcome of the vote was confirmed by Unite on Tuesday.

The dispute over pay has led to a high level of support for strike action among the workers at both airports.
