Strike in Belgium today causes cancellation of four Dublin rotations

Four Belgian cancellations at Dublin Airport today due to a grand handlers strike in  Belgium.

The walk-out has been organised by Belgian trade unions CVC/ACV and FGTB/ABVV to protest against government reforms affecting pensions, working conditions and wage regulations.

About 30pc of flights have been cancelled, including 70 flights at Zaventem and all flights at Charleroi. Public transport across the city will be disrupted by the strikes, with train, metro, tram and bus services all affected. Dublin rotations affected include:

  • Brussels FR1456@06.45 & inbound FR1457
  • Charleroi FR046@08.45
  • Brussels EI639 inbound
  • Helsinki AY1382@09.45 & inbound AY1381
  • Brussels FR657@19.00 & inbound FR658

Spain & Portugal services have been restored with just 24 cancellations at Lisbon airport this morning. Dublin flights are scheduled as normal.
